Welcome to atime2speak.org, the website of Christians for Text Critical Study. CTCS is comprised of businesses and individuals who are making possible the advancement of text critical Christian Education in the Virginia Highlands and Eastern North Carolina.

ABOUT CTCS

Christian Education is fraught with contrasting scope. It has no unifying standard in that it is a vastly fragmented field owing to the denominationalizing of the Church.

True Christian Education is more than a religious undertaking. It is an endeavor where theology (the study of God) serves as the basis for the development of beliefs. And beliefs are the foundation on which rests the hope of one's faith.

The term theology is frequently taken out of context and used to define the doctrine of a particular denomination of Christianity. This dangerous practice can be an indication that 'church doctrine' and not 'the study of God' is the motivating force behind Christian Education. Keep in mind that the study of God's Word, not church doctrine, is Christian Education in its truest sense.

LECTURES AND CLASSES

Using canonical criticism and exposition, lectures and subsequent classes project the broader perspective of definitive truths about God revealed in the authoritative words and Divine character of Jesus Christ.

Those of all learning levels are carefully presented a critical analysis of the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts of the Scripture. By this method, lecture participants and students may formulate an understanding of the Bible text in a fuller consciousness. Lectures and programs of study are centered on the revelation of God to man in the person Jesus Christ.

STATEMENT OF BELIEFS

I hold the Cardinal Doctrine of Christianity found in 1 Peter 3:18 in profound reverence. I regard the ancient Hebrew Prophets to have foretold of a Suffering Servant Messiah, thereafter manifest in Jesus of Nazareth. I defend the Gospel record of His Virgin Birth; His Divine preexistence; His appearance Incarnate as the Son of Man; the coexistence of Baptism by the Holy Spirit and Baptism by water, the latter being the outward sign of the former; the resolution His Death had on humanity; the Apostolic account of His Resurrection; and His imminent coming in Judgment.

I regard all of Scripture as holy and sacred without distinguishing any portion or part as less important than another. I believe all Scripture to have been given by inspiration and that its inerrant and infallible content affords no pretext for censure. As a lecturer and teacher, I recognize that my responsibility is to leave participants and students on solid exegetical ground where God would have them subsist.

Thoroughgoing criticism and systematic exposition unveil the essence of God's Word. Their purpose is not for scientific information but rather for transformation of the soul through greater understanding, knowledge, and wisdom to be applied to everyday Christian living. They are the destroyer of biblical ignorance and the silencer of the familiar assertion, 'This is a hard saying, who can understand it?'
cf. John 6:60.

The transforming knowledge of God is essential for entry into the Kingdom of Heaven and true discipleship. It is paramount in achieving the desired results of Christian Education, as well. But the transformation cannot be achieved in the perfunctory manner of merely calling on individuals to read aloud verses of Scripture in sequence and then following with imprecise comments that leave all devoid of spiritual vitality. This is the primary reason for the dying out of those cherished occasions for genuine Christian Fellowship. It is my mission to reverse this process by offering an inspirational and educational alternative.
